Founded in 1980, the Houston Tennis Club (HTC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering athletic competition, camaraderie, and inclusivity through the sport of tennis.
 

Our mission is to create a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQ+ athletes and allies by promoting visibility, community leadership, and charitable impact. Each year, we support a local non-profit benefiting the queer community by donating funds raised through our events and tournament programming.

While most of our sessions focus on social and recreational play, we also host competitive events such as team tennis, ladders, and championships. Many members travel worldwide to compete in GLTA tournaments, and each November, we proudly host HOUTEX, our annual international GLTA-sanctioned tournament. Additionally, HTC fields an official USTA league team, providing members with further opportunities to compete and represent the club in local and regional competitions.
